Modern life has imposed on mankind several physical and chemical phenomenon, which have influenced the climatic changes and produced truly atmospheric catastrophes. Solar radiation has become more aggressive and atmospheric pollution is constantly deteriorating and we must resolve these problems as quickly as possible.
Over the last 10 years studies have been carried out to discover the causes of some types of cancers, and it has been concluded that many of these diseases are caused by the formation of free radicals. These substances are formed in parts of the human organism such as the liver, skin, heart etc. They can cause cell death by way of a simple unbalancing mechanism of a molecule such as DNA, which looses oxygen, giving rise to a process we call OXIDATION.
Oxidation also happens in fruits such as apples and pears, where one can see the dark color caused by oxidation. It is also easy to see oxidation working in iron and other metals.
In human skin the oxidation process attacks the cell structures caused a pronounced destruction of the collagen, elastin, the proteoglycanes and other structures of the skin. This oxidation attack creates free radicals which are normally controlled by anti-oxidants or anti free radicals, which come from our natural diet.
What happens these days, is that our diets have changed and don't offer the quality of food that is required by our organisms, and don't offer us adequate antioxidants (vitamin A, C & E, Betacarotene, Green Tea, Red Grapes with the skins and seeds, Phytic Acid, which is contained in fruits and cereals, etc)
The imbalance between the production of large amounts of free radicals, produced by cellular oxidation, and the non ingestion of nutritional elements, which are capable of attacking, destroying or balancing these free radicals causes the organism to loose the quality of its organs and tissues.
The skin is probably the organ that suffers the most from this process of oxidation. Skin that has been attacked by free radicals shows visible sighs of aging: loss of shine, signs of dryness, loss of elasticity, colored stains on the skin and the appearance of fine, medium and deep wrinkles.
Much research has been aimed to understand which elements can attack and neutralize the bad effects of free radicals. The main anti-oxidants known are; vitamins A, C, E and other substances such as picnogenol, grape seed extract, green tea extract, Phytic acid and Shea butter, amongst others.
Based on these discoveries and after investigations that prove the efficiency of these products on the skin, our laboratories have produced a range of products that maximise the anti-oxidation potential of these products.
