| The role
of Vitamin C in the field of skin rejuvenation is indisputable: |
-
Increases the
synthesis of collagen
-
Stimulates
the fibroblasts
-
Healing Action
-
Powerful anti-oxidant
agent
-
Reduction in
the inflammatory and allergic reactions
-
Protection
against ultraviolet damage
|
| The majority
of Vitamin C products are made from L-ascorbic
acid, which is the naturally occuring
active molecule. |
| Our laboratory
introduced a new and revolutionary concept using a derivative formulation
of L-ascorbic acid, which is Ascorbyl Palmitate
or Ascorbyl Pectinate
(oil free). |
 |
The superiority
of Ascorbyl Palmitate with respect to
L-ascorbic
acid. |
| In the war
against the damage caused by the free radicals, there is a fundamental
weapon; the antioxidants, the best known and the most powerful being Vitamin
C, L-ascorbic acid, Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate and Ascorbyl Palmitate
/ Pectinate (oil-free). |
| Ascorbyl Pectinate
is a molecule of L-Ascorbyl acid associated with Palmitate Acid. Its principal
advantages with respect to L-Ascorbyl acid are: |
-
It has a neutral
pH (is not acid like L-Ascorbyl acid) and is perfectly tolerated by all
types of skin.
-
It is very
stable, which gives it a superior performance in various formulations.
-
It is soluble
in a 'greasy' environment that means that it acts upon the membrane of
the cell before the free radicals attack the 'cytosol', thereby offering
better penetration.

 |
| 1st. EXPERIMENT:
Skin previously treated with a 3% lotion of Ascorbyl Palmitate did not
produce erythema when exposed to UVB, whereas non treated skin did. |
 |
| 2nd. EXPERIMENT:
Another experiment was developed to prove the physiological activity of
Ascorbyl Palmitate in the production of collagen. In equal concentrations
Ascorbyl Palmitate was much more effective than L-ascorbyl acid in the
stimulation of the fibroblasts. |
 |
| 3rd. EXPERIMENT:
Ascorbyl Palmitate inhibits the growth of epithelial cancer cells much
more efficiently than L-ascorbyl acid. The Ascorbyl Palmitate acts upon
the membrane in perfect synergy with Vitamin E, stabilising the membrane
and prolonging the expected life of the cell. |
 |
| CONCLUSION:
When Ascorbyl Palmitate is supplied topically it is a powerful antioxidant,
acting directly inside the cells and inhibiting free radical damage. Mene
& Moy Stand By C Cream containing vitamin C 5% and powerful antioxidants
is suitable for immediate post-peeling use. |
