Desoxirribonucleic acid (DNA), is a genetic substance in all living beings and an important part of viruses. DNA has the information required to manage:
• The synthesis or production of proteins which a living being requires to carry out its functions
• Replication, which is the set of reactions in which DNA is copied each time a cell or virus reproduces and transfers the information it contains to its descendants.
Each DNA molecule comprises two chains or strips formed by a high number of chemical compounds. These chains join together to form a type of twisted stairway “called the double helix chain”.
